Personal Helium Tanks
At the average party store or florist, one balloon costs $0.89 and a dozen will run you about $10. It follows that the average DIY party planner will stray towards a more economical option if they’re looking at more than four dozen. Consumers may have found the solution in the personal helium tank.
The Basics:
- Balloons: There will often be a chart on the packaging of these tanks that show the number of balloons a single tank can inflate. We’ve reproduced one below:
- Most tanks that are sold at party or department stores are 15 cubic feet, and the larger sizes listed on the chart are very accessible to rent.
- Larger tanks do exist, but they would be both labor intensive and for more professional purposes.
- Storage: if you don’t use up all the helium, you can store your tank for the next party as long as you keep it in a dry, cool location. Other safety warnings can be found on the packages.
